Light Scheme
I.F. Miller 2005
The blue glass sea
basked under a shining sun
So bright even the trees
stood with their eyes closed.
She painted boulders in violet
shadows in umber,
bright green arrowheads for trees.
Now, in fog and wind
The sea is gray, black
even the trees look angry.
Still she paints boulders in violet,
shadows in umber,
bright green arrowheads for trees.
I ask why
she says "Once you choose your light scheme
you must stick with it".
